What is the Poverty Matters Conference?

This conference, formerly known as the "Women and Poverty Conference", brings together human service professionals, community leaders, state officials, low-income advocates, educators, and low-income people to talk about the causes and solutions to poverty. This conference has been held in Wisconsin for over 20 years!

This unique networking enviroment supports the sharing of ideas, identification of new and continuing successful strategies, greater integration of service provision, and a better understanding of how low-income people and community based organizations can work together to promote economic opportunity.

This year there will be over 30 workshops on various topics poverty realted topic including but not limited to:

  • Advocacy
  • Education
  • Child Development
  • Financial Literacy
  • Health Care
  • Food distribution
  • Citizens with Disabilites
  • Transportation and many more topics

Registration, Scholarships, Exhibit Tables & Award Nominations:

  • Registration is now closed

    Scholarships forms, Exhibit table forms and Award nominations are due
    no later than October 17th, 2011
