2009 Poverty Matters!

This conference (formerly our "Women & Poverty Conference") will bring together human service professionals, community leaders, and state officials, low-income advocates, educators, and low-income people to talk about the causes and solutions to poverty. This unique networking environment supports the sharing of ideas, identification of new and continuing successful strategies, greater integration of service provision, and a better understanding of how low-income people and community based organizations can work together to promote economic opportunity.

This year we are excited to have the following speakers present at the conference:

Reggie Bicha  Secretary
WI Department of Children and Families

Timothy Smeeding, Director
Institute for Research on Poverty

Representative Gordon Hintz
54th District of Wisconsin
