Community Action in the News.....

NCAF Launches Community Action Blog

The National Community Action Foundation is pleased to introduce a new communications tool for the Community Action network - the Community Action Blog.

"A blog is a public journal that allows communities of people a way to share thoughts and knowledge," explained NCAF Executive Director David Bradley.  "The intent of the Community Action Blog is for it to become a place for discussion of legislative proposals, political issues and other current events affecting Community Action programs and poverty in America.”  Bradley said NCAF also plans to invite special guests, legislators and scholars to contribute to the online discussions.

Bradley said he hoped the site's listing on
Blogger.com would also bring additional public awareness to Community Action through keyword searches.  "We expect this to become an additional source of Community Action information for Congress, members of the media and other opinion leaders," Bradley said.

Those interested in posting comments on the site will be asked to become a member of the blog by sending an email to
NCAF.News@ncaf.org.  All members and messages will be screened to make certain that no inappropriate comments are posted to the site.

The blog can be accessed through
www.ncaf.org or directly at http://ncaf.blogspot.com.  For more information, contact Laura Johnston Monchuk at NCAF.News@ncaf.org or
